Courtney Smothers

Courtney Smothers is an experienced professional in international trade law, currently serving as the Deputy Assistant USTR for Latin America and Senior Director for MERCOSUR Countries at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative since February 2019. Prior to this role, Courtney Smothers held the position of Associate General Counsel at the U.S. Trade Representative from January 2008 to February 2019 and worked as an Associate at Arnold and Porter from September 2002 to December 2008. Courtney Smothers earned a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law between 1999 and 2002 and a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Language and Literature from Drew University from 1993 to 1997.
