Daniel O'Brien is an experienced professional with a robust background in international trade policy and strategic planning. Currently serving as Deputy Assistant USTR for North America and Director for Mexico at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative since April 2017, O'Brien has previously held significant roles at the International Trade Administration, including Acting National Director and Acting Director of Strategic Planning, managing a large network of trade specialists and leading strategic initiatives. O'Brien's earlier experience at the U.S. Department of Commerce as a Senior Advisor and International Trade Compliance Analyst provided a solid foundation in trade compliance and policy advising. A graduate of William & Mary with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Philosophy, and holding a Master of Arts in International Relations with a focus on Latin American Studies from The George Washington University, O'Brien combines academic excellence with extensive industry expertise.
