Kent Shigetomi

Kent Shigetomi has extensive experience in trade negotiations and foreign service, currently serving as Director of Multilateral Non-Tariff Barriers at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative since September 2000. In this role, significant contributions include negotiating bilateral agreements with Mexico regarding Tequila and implementing changes to NAFTA rules, impacting $3 billion in trade. Prior to this, Kent Shigetomi was a Foreign Service Officer at the U.S. Department of State from March 1992 to September 2000, with assignments in Athens, Greece, Tokyo, Japan, Sinai, Egypt, and the Bureau of Economic Affairs, earning a Superior Honor Award. Kent Shigetomi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics from Brown University.
