Michael Remetta

Michael Remetta has a diverse work experience in the field of economics and trade. Michael currently serves as the Director for Investment at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative since January 2020. Prior to this, they worked as a Program Analyst in the United States Air Force from October 2018 to January 2020. In 2018, they were a Research Intern at the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, where they conducted research on investment screening regimes and Chinese industrial policies. Before that, they interned at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, specifically in the Interagency Trade Enforcement Center, where they focused on monitoring China's compliance with their World Trade Organization obligations and analyzing Chinese-language policy documents related to China's industrial policies and economic trends.

Michael Remetta earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History and Russian from Trinity University from 2008 to 2011. Michael then went on to pursue further education at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) from 2015 to 2017, where they obtained a Master's Degree in International Economics and China Studies.
