Sr. Business Lead, Self Insured Plans at UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust

Anya Filanovsky has a diverse work experience spanning over several years in the healthcare industry. Anya began their career at Children's Hospital of Michigan, where they worked as a Benefit Specialist in Benefit Administration. In this role, they acted as a liaison between hospital employees and insurance providers, calculated payments for prospective retirees, and implemented a new Flexible Benefit program.

Anya then moved on to Health Alliance Plan (HAP), where they worked as an Information Analyst in the Managed-Care Division. Here, they assisted in implementing cost-containment projects, researched utilization trends, and compiled claims data for reports.

After HAP, Anya joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, where they held several roles. Anya also worked as an Administrative Manager in Wellness and Care Management Operations, overseeing a team of 14 staff and driving productivity and cost reductions.

Currently, Anya is working at UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust as a Sr. Business Lead for Self Insured Plans, a role they started in 2017.

Anya Filanovsky has pursued a Master of Science in Health Services Administration (MSHSA) with a focus on Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Central Michigan University.
