Kaitlyn Zinn (Katie)

Kaitlyn (Katie) Zinn is a PhD student at The University of British Columbia's Faculty of Forestry, focusing on the effects of recreational catch-and-release practices on Chinook salmon. Prior experience includes serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for courses related to aquatic ecosystems and forestry, and as a Graduate Research Assistant, where research concentrated on the impacts of reduced stream flow on water quality and habitat selection for at-risk fish species. Previous roles also include work with the UBC Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries and as a member of an Initial Attack Wildfire Crew with the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations. Kaitlyn Zinn holds a Master of Science in Zoology and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Conservation from The University of British Columbia, along with earlier studies in Earth and Mineral Sciences at Penn State University.
