Dr. Kiran Pawar is a researcher at UBC ICORD since August 2018, focusing on making spinal cord injuries preventable, livable, and curable. Previously, Dr. Pawar served as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Bayreuth (2014-2017), contributing to tissue engineering projects involving recombinant spider silk protein. Dr. Pawar's earlier experience includes postdoctoral roles at the University of California, Irvine (2012-2013), and the University of Sheffield Innovation (2010-2011), where contributions were made to nerve regeneration projects. Dr. Pawar completed a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Regensburg (2007-2010) and a Master's degree in Organic Chemistry from Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, India (2000-2002). Prior to doctoral studies, Dr. Pawar worked as a project assistant at the National Chemical Laboratory in Pune, India (2003-2006).
