Luis Dias, P.Eng. is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in research and product development within the biomedical field. Currently serving as a Research Engineer at UBC ICORD since September 2018, Luis has previously worked as a Product Development Engineer at Microdermics and an R&D Project Engineer at Neovasc Inc., where contributions included the design and development of a permanent implantable cardiovascular medical device. Luis's expertise encompasses prototype design, fabrication, and testing, along with optimizing manufacturing processes for clinical-grade devices. Earlier roles at the University of British Columbia included Laboratory Research Assistant positions where involvement in projects such as the Integrated Probe Bike Project and Lab-On-a-Chip project led to co-authoring scholarly papers and gaining proficiency in various fabrication techniques. Luis holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia.
