William Honer is a Professor of Psychiatry at The University of British Columbia, with a prominent history in academic and clinical leadership, having served as Head of the UBC Department of Psychiatry from 2011 to 2018. Honer's clinical research focuses on mental illness, addiction, and physical illness among individuals in precarious housing or homelessness, and they currently lead a significant grant addressing these issues. Actively contributing to the fields of psychopharmacology and schizophrenia treatment, Honer collaborates on aging-related research with Dr. David Bennett at Rush University in Chicago. In addition to extensive consulting roles, they maintain a clinical practice and have lectured at Columbia University since 1991.
