Ting Chen

Ting Chen is a highly experienced software engineer with a robust background in big data and analytics systems. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Engineer at Uber since July 2018, Ting leads the tech development for data analytics systems that support various products, including Uber Eats and internal tools, and holds the position of Apache Pinot committer. Prior to Uber, Ting contributed to Google's search architecture as a Software Engineer and was involved in LinkedIn's search infrastructure team, enhancing various search products. Ting's academic achievements include a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where research focused on indexing systems for regular expressions, as well as master's and bachelor's degrees in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore. Earlier career experiences include internships at IBM and Google, specializing in indexing and load balancing systems.
