Yang Zhao

Yang Zhao is an accomplished technology leader currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Uber since August 2024, overseeing critical areas such as autonomous vehicles and location inferences. Prior to this role, Yang held several leadership positions at Lime from March 2021 to August 2024, including Head of Product Engineering and Sr Director of Engineering, managing diverse teams and scaling product engineering initiatives. Yang also previously contributed to Uber in various roles from 2016 to March 2021, focusing on marketplace dynamics and team management. Earlier experiences include serving as a Software Engineer at Twitter, where Yang developed internationalization solutions, and co-founding Footstep Labs, Inc., enhancing patient recovery through technology. Yang holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Engineering from Zhejiang University.
