Mikkel Cornelius Nielsen has a diverse range of work experience. Mikkel Cornelius started their career as a Student Intern at Oticon A/S in 2009, where they worked until 2012. After that, they joined Atlas Maridan Aps as a Student Intern, where they contributed to the development of prototypes of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) until 2014. In 2014, they joined Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet (NTNU) as a PhD Candidate, and later became a Postdoctoral Fellow until 2019. Currently, they are working at UBIQ Aerospace, starting as a Lead Engineer in 2019 and now serving as the Chief Engineer since August 2021.

Mikkel Cornelius Nielsen completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electrical Engineering from DTU - Technical University of Denmark, graduating in 2012. Mikkel Cornelius then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Automation and Control at DTU - Technical University of Denmark from 2012 to 2014.
