Kristaps Skrastins

Kristaps Skrastins has a diverse work experience across multiple industries. Kristaps is currently working at Ubiquiti Inc. as an IT Project Manager and Product Line Manager. In this role, they lead software R&D teams and ensures the development and delivery of stable and cutting-edge software for over 1 million devices worldwide.

Prior to Ubiquiti, Kristaps was the CEO and Co-Founder of xTimer, a sports tech startup. Kristaps successfully built a next-generation sprint analysis system and convinced coaches to switch to xTimer from existing timekeeping systems.

Kristaps also worked as an Electronics Engineer at MikroTik, where they were responsible for testing and repairing various IT products. Kristaps participated in the Buildit Accelerator program, where they gained knowledge in designing business plans and creating unique value propositions.

Earlier in their career, Kristaps worked as a Robotics Engineer at iRobot Latvia, where they focused on promotional projects and PCB design. Kristaps also worked as an Electronics Engineer at Winmill and as a Junior Electronics Engineer at Riga Technical University.

Furthermore, they contributed to their high school, Valmiera Pargauja gymnasium, by teaching robotics to other students, covering topics such as electronics, mechanics, and programming.

Kristaps Skrastins completed their Professional Bachelor Degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering with a specialization in Computerised Control of Electrical Technologies from Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte (Riga Technical University) from 2014 to 2018. Kristaps then went on to pursue a Professional Master Degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering, again focusing on Computerised Control of Electrical Technologies at the same university, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
