Ralph Spickermann is an accomplished engineer and entrepreneur with extensive experience in optical sensor technology, venture capital, and strategic development. Currently serving as an Ubiquity Extended Team Member at Ubiquity Ventures, Ralph is involved in investments in early-stage startups focused on innovative software solutions. Previously, Ralph held the position of Senior Staff Optical Sensor Engineer at Cruise, and co-founded Oyla Inc, where technology integrated LiDAR and video for advanced AI applications. Ralph's tenure at Lockheed Martin included roles in Corporate Strategic Development and R&D, where significant contributions included evaluating commercial opportunities for defense technologies and leading the deep-sea mining initiative. Additionally, Ralph founded TeON Optical Networks and conceptualized groundbreaking optical communication systems while pursuing a Ph.D. at UC Santa Barbara, reinforcing an impressive academic foundation in electrical engineering and opto-electronics.
