Sean Hogle

General Counsel & SVP US Operations at Ubitus

Sean Hogle has extensive work experience in law and legal operations. Sean is currently a Partner at Rooney, an international boutique commercial law firm with offices in New York, London, Edinburgh, and San Francisco. Sean handles various aspects of corporate law, including corporate formation, financing, governance, mergers and acquisitions, taxation, real estate, commercial disputes, employment, and intellectual property matters. Sean represents a wide range of clients, from large multinational corporations to start-up companies, as well as government entities, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations.

Prior to joining Rooney, Sean served as the General Counsel & SVP US Operations at Ubitus. Sean also founded and served as the CEO of Redline | lawyer up, a collaboration environment and knowledge management platform for lawyers worldwide.

Sean has also held various leadership positions, including President and Founder of Sean Hogle PC, Counselors to Innovation, President and COO of Aplix Corporation of America and Aplix Europe GmbH, and Assistant General Counsel at Sun Microsystems, Inc. Sean began their legal career as a Judicial Clerk at the US District Court and Appellate Court Judicial Clerk at the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Early in their career, Sean gained valuable experience as a Summer Paid Intern at the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice, where they worked on a civil price-fixing conspiracy case involving Ivy League schools. This experience further solidified their passion for law and their admiration for the professionalism and competence of the attorneys they worked with.

Sean Hogle completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance, Economics, and Political Science from JMU College of Business from 1986 to 1990. Sean then pursued a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from William & Mary Law School, which they completed from 1990 to 1993. Afterward, Sean attended the University of Colorado Denver from 1997 to 1999, where they studied Computer Science and Engineering, although no degree is specified. Additionally, Sean obtained a law license from the Virginia State Bar in September 1993, the Colorado Supreme Court in August 1995, and the State Bar of California in September 2006.
