Philip Symes

Philip Symes is an experienced AI/ML and model risk leader with over 20 years in quantitative risk management within major financial institutions, including UBS, Barclays, and Morgan Stanley. They have developed comprehensive AI/ML audit methodologies, led independent assessments across model types, and managed regulatory remediation efforts during their tenure at UBS. Philip’s earlier roles include Vice President at Barclays and Manager at Ernst & Young, where they built end-to-end risk frameworks and contributed to significant revenue growth in the MENA region. They hold a DPhil in Particle Physics and are currently pursuing an MSc in Data Science, reflecting their blend of technical expertise and commercial acumen in risk management and governance.
