Alexandre Bayen serves as the Director of the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society and the Banatao Institute at CITRIS, University of California, starting January 2024. Since March 2005, Bayen has been a Professor in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at UC Berkeley, specializing in systems engineering, control and optimization, and machine learning. Other roles include Associate Provost for the Berkeley Space Center, Director of Aerospace Program Development, Director of the Institute for Transportation Studies, and Faculty Scientist at Berkeley Lab. Bayen has also consulted for Oliver Wyman, Google, Uber, Waze, and co-founded SafelyYou. With a Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University and extensive experience in both academia and industry, Bayen has significantly contributed to advancements in mobility and transportation technologies.
