Botond Bognár is a Ph.D. student at the University of California, Berkeley, focusing on spatial computing and the interaction between the built environment and 3D digital content in extended reality (XR) spaces. Bognár has served as a visiting researcher at the Berkeley Center for New Media, emphasizing the shift from screen-based information design to spatial computing and addressing sociotechnical challenges related to 3D user interfaces and user experience in XR contexts. Bognár co-founded the spatial data company REscan, which specializes in scanning, reconstructing, and streaming 3D models, and Pillantas, a startup focused on eye movement-based interfaces for AR/VR and robotics. Bognár has extensive experience in urban development, having co-founded multiple companies, including BB Development Ltd. and Tribute Estate East Ltd., which developed multimodal mixed-use city centers in Hungary, and Villa Budapest by Budapanorama Inc., aimed at establishing a cultural center in Buda Castle. Bognár holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from Central European University and a Master of Science in Social Policy from Eötvös Loránd University.
