David Evan Harris is a Chancellor's Public Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, where courses like AI Ethics for Leaders and Civic Technology are taught at the Haas School of Business. Currently, David serves as Senior Advisor for AI and Elections at the Brennan Center for Justice, focusing on the impact of AI on democracy. Additionally, David is a Senior Policy Advisor for the California Initiative for Technology and Democracy, working on legislation to combat the misuse of AI in elections. Other roles include participation in prominent working groups for the European Commission and the National Institute of Standards and Technology, alongside ongoing research and teaching positions related to AI governance and technology policy. David holds a BA in Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley, an MS in Sociology from USP, and has studied Global Ecology through the International Honors Program.
