Efren Gonzalez

Efren Gonzalez is a current Graduate Student pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Plant Biology at the University of California, Berkeley, a position held since August 2022. Prior experience includes serving as an Environmental Health & Safety Manager at the Carnegie Institution for Science from January 2019 to July 2022, alongside roles as a Research Assistant in the Wang Lab and an Undergraduate Researcher in both the Niyogi Lab and Coates Lab. Efren's earlier research experiences consist of internships at Cal Poly Pomona's Stieber Lab, Oak Crest Institute of Science as a Rose Hills Research Fellow, and Chapman University’s Keller Lab as a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow. Academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Environmental Biology obtained at the University of California, Berkeley, from 2016 to 2018, and an Associate of Science in Biological Science from Citrus College between 2012 and 2016.
