UC Berkeley
Felipe Gonzalez is an experienced physicist with a focus on the study of material properties under extreme pressures and temperatures, relevant to planetary interiors. Currently serving as an Assistant Project Scientist at the University of California, Berkeley since September 2016, Felipe employs computer simulations based on quantum mechanics to explore thermodynamic and electronic properties of materials. Prior positions include a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Universidad de Chile and various teaching assistantships during academic pursuits. Felipe holds a PhD in Physics from Universidad de Chile, where research included analyzing conditions affecting planetary interiors. Felipe has also contributed to research projects on radiation damage estimation in metals and taught courses on simulation methods.
