Helen Bronston

Helen Bronston, AIA, currently serves as a PhD Candidate and Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, starting in October 2025. Prior to this role, Helen was an Instructor in Architectural Theory at the Academy of Art University from February 2024 to October 2025. With extensive experience in architecture, notable positions include Architecture Discipline Lead at SmithGroup from May 2014 to October 2025 and Senior Project Designer at HMC Architects in San Francisco from May 2006 to April 2014. Helen also contributed to significant projects such as the UC Davis Genomics and Biomedical Sciences Facility and the UCSF Mt. Zion Comprehensive Cancer Center. Educational credentials include an M.Arch. from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a B.A. from Yale University, along with ongoing doctoral studies at UC Berkeley in the History of Architecture.
