James C. Kao

James C. Kao is an experienced professional in executive recruitment and talent acquisition, currently serving as the Assistant Director of Berkeley Executive Search at the University of California, Berkeley since April 2015. Under James C. Kao's leadership, the Berkeley Executive Search team has expanded from a single member to ten, effectively managing senior-level searches across the University of California campuses since its inception in 2019. Previous roles at UC Berkeley include Acting Director of Talent Acquisition & Executive Search and Berkeley Executive Search Manager. Prior to this, James C. Kao worked at The Museum of Modern Art, where responsibilities included managing visitor services and cross-departmental collaboration. As a self-employed fine artist since 2004, James C. Kao continues to maintain a creative practice while also holding various positions in prominent cultural institutions. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Art from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master's degree in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, University of the Arts London.
