Jose Fernandez

Jose Fernandez, M.Ed., currently serves as the Director of the bridges Multicultural Resource Center and Recruitment and Retention Centers at the University of California, Berkeley, starting January 2024. Previously, Jose held the role of Manager of Matriculation and Alumni Supports at Alliance College-Ready Public Schools, where significant achievements included leading strategic planning for counseling programs, developing community college matriculation initiatives, and managing mentorship programs for over 450 low-income, first-generation undergraduates. Jose's career also includes various educational roles at institutions like UCLA and UC Berkeley, focusing on student support and academic programming, complemented by a Master of Education in Student Affairs from UCLA and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Ethnic Studies from UC Berkeley.
