Karen Mendelow Nelson has extensive experience in science education and research administration. Currently serving as a Grants Analyst/Research Administrator IV and Science Curriculum Specialist at the University of California, Berkeley, since 2004, Nelson oversees important administrative and financial functions while developing science curricula at the Lawrence Hall of Science. Additional roles include Board Member and Co-Chair of Outreach & Equity Committees for the MarinCAN Climate Action Network, Commissioner for the San Anselmo Climate Action Commission, and Vice President of Education for the Environmental Forum of Marin. Previous experience includes serving as a Science Educator and Program Manager at the Exploratorium, where Nelson managed significant budgets and developed innovative professional development programs for science educators. Nelson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology/Botany from Colorado State University.
