Kevin Koy

Executive Director, The Eric and Wendy Schmidt Center for Data Science & Environment

Kevin Koy is the founding Executive Director of the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Center for Data Science & Environment at the University of California, Berkeley, where they lead initiatives to address environmental challenges through computational solutions. Previously, Kevin served as Senior Director of Data x Design at IDEO, co-leading efforts to integrate data-driven insights into design. They held key roles at UC Berkeley, including Executive Director of the Geospatial Innovation Facility and the Berkeley Institute for Data Science. Kevin also contributed to building collaborations in data science at Stanford University and conducted geospatial analyses at the American Museum of Natural History and the Smithsonian Institution. They are currently pursuing several degrees in Geography and Environmental Science and Policy while holding a BA in Environmental Studies and Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania.
