Lee Fleming

Professor

Lee Fleming is a distinguished academic currently serving as a Professor at the University of California, Berkeley since July 2021. From 2011 to 2021, Lee was the Founding Faculty Director and Fung Chair of the Coleman Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership, where Lee successfully initiated the Master of Engineering degree program, yielding over 3,000 graduates and generating $180 million in revenue for the campus. Prior academic appointments include the Albert Weatherhead III Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School (2008-2011) and a Professor at Harvard University (1998-2008). Lee's early career involved technical roles, including serving as a Semiconductor Engineer at Hewlett Packard from 1985 to 1992 and an athlete with the US National Cycling Team from 1979 to 1982. Lee's educational background includes a PhD in Industrial Engineering, along with two master’s degrees in Statistics and Management Science from Stanford University, and a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
