Rahul Sarkar

Postdoctoral Researcher

Rahul Sarkar is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, focusing on mathematics research with a primary emphasis on quantum computing, alongside interests in machine learning, microlocal analysis, applied linear algebra, and inverse theory. Previously, Rahul served as a Senior Consultant at Fractal, assisting with quantum computing R&D, and as a Quantum Computing Researcher at the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics, participating in a research program alongside leading experts. Experience also includes roles as a Quantum Algorithms Researcher at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center and QC Ware Corp., contributing to theoretical aspects of quantum computing and resulting in publications and a patent application. Rahul holds a PhD in Computational and Applied Mathematics from Stanford University, where the thesis addressed wave propagation problems in imaging and algebra problems related to quantum information theory, complemented by an MS in the same field, awarded the Shell Fellowship.
