Andrew Brown

Andrew Brown is an experienced professional in bioengineering and healthcare innovation, currently serving as the Director of Strategic Product Portfolios at the University of California, Davis since October 2024. Previously, Andrew held various roles at the University of Pittsburgh from August 2009 to October 2024, including Clinical Assistant Professor and Graduate Student Researcher, where efforts included the development of a patent-pending synthetic bone graft material. As Founder and CEO of Emergence Dental from 2019 to 2023, Andrew focused on entrepreneurial ventures. Additional experience includes serving as an Artificial Heart Biomedical Engineer at UPMC from 2012 to 2023, where responsibilities encompassed managing ventricular assist device patients and their associated equipment. Andrew also contributed to the commercialization of academic innovations in roles at sciVelo and bioStratica, and has been involved in educational outreach programs in tissue engineering. Andrew holds a PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh and has a strong foundation in research, highlighted by publications and presentations in the field.
