Naoki Saito

Distinguished Professor Of Mathematics at UC Davis

Naoki Saito is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in applied mathematics and data science. Currently serving as the Director of the UC Davis TETRAPODS Institute of Data Science and a Professor of Mathematics at the University of California, Davis, Saito leads interdisciplinary research initiatives supported by the NSF. Saito has also held significant roles as Chair of the Graduate Group in Applied Mathematics, overseeing faculty and graduate students, and as Chair and Vice Chair of the SIAM Activity Group on Imaging Science, where promotion of collaboration among professionals in imaging science was key. Previous experience includes positions as a Research Scientist at Schlumberger and as a Software Development Engineer at Nippon Schlumberger K.K. Saito's educational background includes a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Yale University and advanced degrees from The University of Tokyo in Mathematical Engineering.
