Blaize Mekinna

Blaize Mekinna serves as the Creative Director/Principal Artist at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, part of UCSD, since 1999, while also holding the title of Principal Artist at the same institution since 1983. With a longstanding career in artistic direction and creation, Blaize has dedicated several decades to the field of oceanography and has contributed significantly to its visual representation. Educationally, Blaize attended Northern Arizona University from 1974 to 1978.
