Elaine Tom

Elaine Tom is a seasoned professional in contract and grant management, currently serving as Principal Contract and Grant Officer at UC San Diego since May 2022. Prior to this role, Elaine worked at UCLA Technology Development Group as an Industry Research and Material Transfer Contracts Officer, where responsibilities included negotiating and reviewing various agreements to comply with institutional regulations and protect intellectual property. Additional experience includes serving as Business Operations Manager at Grant Thornton LLP and holding roles as an International Tax Associate and legal intern at various organizations. Elaine holds a Juris Doctor degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UCLA.
