Morgan Appel currently serves as the Assistant Dean of Education and Community Outreach at UC San Diego, where responsibilities include leading a department focused on diverse educational programming for a wide audience. With extensive teaching experience at both UC San Diego and UC Irvine, Morgan has developed and taught numerous courses aimed at enhancing educational practices. Previous roles include Director of the Department of Education and Behavioral Sciences, overseeing academic programming and revenue generation, as well as a longstanding volunteer position with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Morgan has a robust research background, having worked as a Research Associate at various institutions, where contributions include original research, publication of findings, and collaboration with educational organizations to improve outcomes for underserved communities. Morgan holds an MBA from UC Irvine and a PhD in Education from Claremont Graduate University.
