Nan Chen

Nan Chen currently serves as a Senior Project Coordinator at UC San Diego since March 2023, leading project management for the Erasing Equity Gaps via Collective Impact Initiative and overseeing the development of five student-focused Working Groups. Previously at Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Nan Chen created and instructed a Functional Mobility class while collaborating on pioneering Drosophila behavior and neuroscience research projects as a Research Specialist. Earlier experience includes roles as a Research Assistant and Lab Manager at the University of Southern California, where responsibilities encompassed genetic screening and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, as well as managing teaching assistant training. Additional roles include Group Leader at the Southern California Coastal Water Research Project, overseeing a team during seawater sample collection, and a Research Assistant at Peking University. Nan Chen holds a PhD in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Southern California.
