Sharon van Bruggen

Sharon Van Bruggen currently serves as the Director of University Centers at UC San Diego, overseeing expansive student union facilities and an annual operating budget of $13 million. With a demonstrated history of increasing student engagement, Sharon previously held the role of Assistant Director, where significant improvements in event attendance and programming were achieved. Prior experience includes a Senior Marketing Manager position at UCLA Alumni Association, where successful marketing strategies led to substantial increases in event participation and web traffic. Sharon's career began at Kaiser Permanente and included various roles at Catholic Charities and a marketing consultancy. Sharon holds a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from the University of San Diego and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from UCLA.
