Darrell Brown

Darrell Brown is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in capacity building and education. Currently serving as the Capacity Building Training Coordinator at UCAN in Chicago since August 2025, Darrell designs, delivers, and evaluates training programs aimed at enhancing the capabilities of community-based organizations within the GASC Capacity Building Network for Community Safety. Prior roles include Director of Teaching Learning & Quality Practice and Director of Workforce Development Programs at It Takes A Village Family of Schools, where Darrell focused on developing a pipeline for quality early childhood educators, and Teacher Coach at YWCA Metropolitan Chicago, specializing in Early Childhood Services. Also, Darrell held positions as Head Teacher/Site Coordinator at Children's Learning Center and Facility Supervisor at Campus Recreation Northern Illinois University. Darrell holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Northern Illinois University and an Associate of Science from Kishwaukee College.
