Lu Zhao is a seasoned leader in (bio)pharmaceutical technical operations, specializing in CMC development and industrialization with over 25 years of experience. Currently serving as the Sr. Director of Drug Product Strategy and Industrialization at UCB, Zhao is responsible for manufacturing deployment and long-term sourcing strategies throughout the product lifecycle. Zhao has played a crucial role in the approval of multiple drug products by global regulatory agencies and has extensive expertise in process validation and technology transfer. Prior to UCB, Zhao held significant positions at Zogenix, Bayer Technology Services, and other organizations, where they managed key technical projects and collaborations essential for drug product commercialization. Zhao earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University.
