Maria Gasca

Radio Disc Jockey at UCLA Radio

Maria Gasca is an experienced undergraduate researcher currently engaged in Dr. Blumstein's Laboratory at the Department of Ecology Behavior and Evolution, focusing on the morphological changes in Southern California lizards due to urbanization, collaborating with Post Doctoral Dr. Bree Putman and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles since October 2016. Additionally, Maria serves as a radio disc jockey at UCLA Radio, where multiple shows including The Weathered Channel and Cabronx are produced. Responsibilities also include managing graphic media, overseeing promotions, and crafting designs for marketing initiatives at UCLA Radio. Furthermore, in the summer of 2017, Maria participated as a marine ecology researcher at Gump Field Station in French Polynesia, contributing to an NSF PIRE funded Research Experience for Undergraduates. Maria holds a Bachelor's degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from UCLA, earned in 2019.
