Arya Bhalla is an undergraduate researcher at UCLA, currently engaged in the Zamudio Lab studying CRISPR-Cas-mediated RNA binding protein competition in cancer and the Fried Lab focusing on neural mechanisms of memory and cognition in epilepsy patients. In addition to research, Arya contributes to Empower Health as a product team member, enhancing a healthcare review platform that targets bias in care for women and minorities. Arya has also been involved with Nova, Tech for Good, leading the Regenerate America project and developing a VR app for personal safety. Experience includes roles with LA Hacks, Illumination Foundation Medical Group, and a significant social media presence as a comedian on Instagram, with a peak weekly reach of 14 million. Arya has a strong background in volunteer work, connecting families to healthcare resources through the American Academy of Pediatrics - Orange County Chapter. Education includes attendance at UCLA from September 2021, following prior studies at Northwood High School, Saddleback College, and Chapman University.
