Michael Wells

Michael Wells is an Assistant Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, since September 2021, focusing on neurodevelopmental disorders and Zika virus neuropathogenesis utilizing induced pluripotent stem cell technology. Prior to this role, Michael served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Broad Institute and a Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Department of Stem Cell & Regenerative Biology, where similar research was conducted. Academic training includes generating Shank3 and Ptchd1 conditional knockout mouse models of neurodevelopmental disorders during time as a Visiting Scholar at MIT and a PhD Candidate at Duke University, where a Doctor of Philosophy in Neurobiology was earned. Michael's educational background includes a Bachelor's in Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Notre Dame.
