Richard Kirk

Teaching Fellow

Richard Kirk is currently the Co-Managing Editor at Critical Planning Journal since March 2024 and serves as a Teaching Associate at UCLA, where responsibilities include courses on People and the Earth’s Ecosystems, Introduction to GIS, and the History of European Cities. Previous roles include doctoral researcher and teaching assistant in Cultural Geography and Ethnicity in American Cities, as well as a Graduate Research Fellow and teaching assistant at the University of North Texas. Richard's research experience includes work as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Field Research, focused on archaeological excavation in Catalonia. Richard holds a Ph.D. in Geography from UCLA, a Graduate Certificate in Urban Humanities from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, and both an M.S. and B.S. in Geography from the University of North Texas.
