Robert Fairlie is a Professor of Public Policy at UCLA since July 2023 and a Professor of Economics at the University of California, Santa Cruz since July 1994. In addition to their academic roles, Robert Fairlie serves as a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research since 2015. Between 2017 and 2023, Robert Fairlie was a SIEPR Visitor at Stanford University, and previously held the position of Visiting Research Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley in 2010-2011 and at Yale University in 2004. Robert Fairlie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stanford University in 1987 and a Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University in 1994.
