Carlos B. is a seasoned hardware engineer with extensive experience in mechanical engineering and product development. Currently serving as a Founding Hardware Engineer at UCR since June 2025, Carlos previously held roles at Moon Surgical as a Staff Hardware Design Engineer, where responsibilities included leading concept design and compliance testing for medical devices. Additionally, Carlos gained experience at Johnson & Johnson as a Mechanical Engineering Manager, overseeing a team focused on complex robotic systems, and held engineering positions at Applied Materials, Nauticus Robotics, and TRI-SEN Systems Corporation, contributing to diverse projects in semiconductor manufacturing, robotics, and turbomachinery safety. Carlos earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2014.
