Gary Abrams

Attending Neurologist at UCSF Medical Center

Gary Abrams is a highly experienced neurologist currently serving as a Professor of Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco, and as an Attending Neurologist at UCSF Medical Center since July 1995. Previously, Gary held the position of Rehabilitation Section Chief at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center from July 2000 to June 2021. Prior to these roles, Gary worked as an Associate Attending Neurologist and Associate Professor of Neurology at Columbia University Medical Center from July 1987 to June 1995, and served as Medical Director and Chief of Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Services at Helen Hayes Hospital from 1986 to 1993, where Gary directed the enhancement of various rehabilitation programs for neurological and other disabilities. Gary received an MD in Medicine from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and also attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
