Malcolm John

Malcolm John, MD, MPH, currently serves as Medical Director of Health Equity and Co-Chair of the Health Equity Council at UCSF Health since July 2020. In addition, Malcolm John is a Professor of Medicine and the Dean's Diversity Leader for Clinical Health Equity at the University of California, San Francisco, where involvement includes leading the Clinical Health Equity subgroup of the Dean's Office Differences Matter Initiative. Malcolm John has been Director of HIV Health Equity at the 360: The Positive Care Center at UCSF since July 2000. Previous experience includes serving as a Fellow in the California Health Care Foundation's Health Care Leadership Program from September 2018 to October 2020, and working as a Visiting Scientist at The J David Gladstone Institutes from 2000 to 2005. Education credentials include an MD from Harvard Medical School, an MPH in Epidemiology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BS in Biology from Yale University.
