Omar Bennis has a diverse work experience in the technology and software development industry. Omar is currently serving as the Vice President of Technology at UEAT since June 2021. In their previous role at Idside - Applications web, they worked as the Executive Vice President from September 2020 to June 2021.
Before that, Omar had a significant tenure at Ticketmaster, where they held multiple roles. Omar served as the Vice-President of Software Development from August 2013 to November 2019, overseeing a multi-location and multi-disciplinary team. During their time there, they played a crucial role in optimizing the performance of the international ticketing platform, opening the platform for global open API integration, and defining the Domain Driven Architecture. Omar also led the growth of the Quebec office and offshore teams.
Omar's experience also includes a role as the Senior Director of Software Development at Ticketmaster, where they focused on building the DevOps strategy and enhancing the system quality.
Prior to their time at Ticketmaster, Omar worked at Taleo as a Senior Manager, Foundation & System components from April 2006 to April 2011. Omar also held positions as a Team Lead for Identity and Access Management (IAM) and as a Security Architect, responsible for ensuring the security of the Taleo enterprise suite.
Omar began their career at Motus Technology, where they worked as a Director of Security Software Development, Security Architect, and Software Developer.
Omar Bennis began their education in 1985 at Collège Français in Montréal, where they obtained a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Pure and Applied Science. Following this, they attended Université de Montréal from 1986 to 1987, where they pursued a Minor in Mathematics and Computer Science. Finally, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science at Université Laval from 1987 to 1990.
