Simon Drake has had extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Simon began their career in 2001 at ITV, where they served as the Head of Legal & Business Affairs, Sport and also as an ITV board representative. In 2003, they joined Liverpool Football Club as an ITV board representative. At UEFA, they held several positions including Head of Commercial Legal Services, Chief Counsel Business Affairs, Managing Director Business Affairs, Company Secretary & Management Board, and General Counsel. Simon also worked for UEFA Club Competitions SA as a Managing Director, Company Secretary, and Member of the Board of Administration. Additionally, they were a part of the Management Committee at CAA Eleven and TEAM Marketing. Simon was also a Director at Arsenal Broadband Limited and LiverpoolFC.TV Limited. Simon's most recent role was at UEFA, where they held the position of General Counsel.

Simon Drake attended the University of Exeter from 1988 to 1991, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with a focus on Law. Following this, from 1991 to 1992, they enrolled at the College of Law in Guildford and pursued Law Society Finals, without completing a specific degree.
