Derek Day

Derek Day has a solid work experience in the field of information security and network administration. Derek started their career at Van Meter Inc. as a Network Administrator in June 2006 and worked there until June 2011. After that, they joined Ruffalo Noel Levitz as a Network Security Engineer in July 2011 and continued working there until March 2018. Currently, Derek is employed at UFG Insurance, where they initially worked as a Security Administrator from March 2018 onwards. Derek has recently transitioned into the role of Information Security Engineer in November 2021.

Derek Day's education history includes completing an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in System, Networking, and LAN/WAN Management/Manager from Kirkwood Community College, which they attended from 2004 to 2006. In addition to their degree, Derek has obtained several certifications. These certifications include GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT) from GIAC Certifications in February 2022, GIAC Certified Penetration Tester (GPEN) from GIAC Certifications in January 2021, GIAC Defensible Security Architecture (GDSA) from GIAC Certifications in December 2019, Giac Defending Advanced Threats (GDAT) from GIAC Certifications in August 2019, Cisco Certified Network Associate Security - CCNA Security from Cisco in November 2013, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in May 2012, and Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching - CCNA from Cisco in November 2010.
