Kristin McGowan, MHA, CPHRM, PMP has over 13 years of experience in risk management, project management, and quality and safety. Kristin most recently worked as a Senior Risk Management Specialist at UFG Insurance since April 2020. Prior to that, they were a Risk Manager at Mercy from July 2018 to March 2020. From June 2015 to July 2018, Kristin served as a Senior Project Manager in Strategic Planning and Business Development at University of Iowa Health Care. Kristin also held the role of Quality and Safety Specialist at the same organization from December 2011 to June 2015. Earlier in their career, Kristin worked as a Quality and Risk Manager at Ottumwa Regional Health Center from December 2009 to December 2011, and as a Risk and Compliance Manager at Marengo Memorial Hospital from March 2007 to December 2009.

Kristin McGowan, MHA, CPHRM, PMP has an extensive education history and additional certifications that contribute to their professional background. Kristin obtained a Bachelor's degree from Iowa State University, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Following this, they pursued a degree in Respiratory Therapy from Kirkwood Community College, studying from 2005 to 2007. Kristin further expanded their knowledge by earning a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from Utica University, where they completed their studies from 2012 to 2014.

In addition to their educational achievements, Kristin McGowan has obtained multiple certifications. Kristin is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, which they accomplished in May 2019. Kristin also holds the certification for Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) from the American Hospital Association. Furthermore, they aspire to obtain the Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification from the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ).
