Nick Owings

Nick Owings has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology. Nick started their career in 2003 as a Desktop Support at Maytag and worked there until 2005. In 2005, they joined Choice Solutions as a System Engineer and held this position until 2009. During their time at Choice Solutions, they gained experience in system engineering. In 2009, they joined UFG Insurance as a Network Security Administrator, where they successfully redesigned and implemented server and desktop virtualization, network, and WAN. Nick also played a key role in migrating to a new datacenter and ensuring daily security for a network of eight sites and nearly 1000 users. In 2016, they were appointed as the Information Security Manager at UFG Insurance, where they continue to contribute their expertise in ensuring the security of the organization's information assets.

Nick Owings completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science and Business from the University of Iowa, where they attended from 1999 to 2004. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications, including CISSP from (ISC)² in July 2016, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) in August 2009, Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator in June 2008, JNCIA-ER in May 2008, VMWare Certified Engineer in February 2008, and Cisco Certified Network Associate in September 2006.
